Condenan en EEUU a narco mexicano
Un cabecilla del tráfico de drogas en México que dirigió un poderoso cartel durante más de una década fue sentenciado a 17 años en una prisión estadounidense.

Miguel Angel Caro Quintero fue sentenciado el jueves. Se declaró culpable de chantaje y conspirar para distribuir marihuana el año pasado. Caro Quintero dirigió el cartel Sonora, el cual se dedicó al contrabando de miles de toneladas de marihuana y cocaína en los años 80, según las autoridades.

Su hermano, el también ex líder del cartel Rafael Caro Quintero, fue acusado en 1985 de torturar y asesinar al agente encubierto Enrique Camarena Salazar, quien trabajaba para la Administración de Control de Drogas estadounidense. Rafael Caro Quintero está en prisión en México por el asesinato de Camarena.
